I want to upgrade my system form Windows ME to Windows
XP. I want to reformat my hard drive in the process.

However I have a ton of saved Emails, and a large contact
list.

I have a D: drive that I can copy or export them to but
how would I recover them once I reload my system.

Also I am running OE 6 and am considering upgrading to
Outlook 2003 (or whatever they call it these days)

Any suggestions would be appreciated other then RTFM.

Thanks in advance

hey des, very simply just export All your email and contacts folders to a destination of your choice (this can be cd , zip another hard drive) by clicking
Fil
import/ expor
export to a fil
personal folder file (.pst
Now select your Personal Folders (the very top)
click 'include subfolders
lastly select your destinatio

when you reformat and install xp and outlook etc...
open outlook and click
imort/expor
import from another prog or fil
scroll down to personal foler file (.pst
then browse for the location of your previous 'export
and you is done

hope this helps , ro

You can't "Export" folders in Outlook Express unless you have Outlook
installed - that is the only format the "Export" function exports to in
Outlook express.
