Why does my taskbar tell me its safe to remove my hard
drive? Its a 35 gig raptor..why would i want to
uninstall that, those morons, lol...and how do iget this
gay virus protection thing to stop popping up...thanks in
advanced, this is my first time setting windows up on my
own =)

Is this hard drive a secondary hard drive? It will show this as
removable because SATA drives are hot-swappable depending on the SATA
controller. This means you can use that Safely Remove Hardware utility
to remove the drive while Windows is running (though this won't work if
the drive has Windows on it). You can hide the logo by right clicking
on the task bar, click Properties, and select to hide the icon for that.

now windows just shust down my pc afterr a whbile, one
time i got a blue screen that said windows detected a
problem..but then it rebooted too fast to read anymore
than that..

Hrm, not sure what you have done, but you may want to try a guide to
setting up Windows XP. Check out www.blackviper.com for a little info
on how to perform a clean install of Windows XP. Some of his articles
are helpful, but be warned that a few things on his site are still
designed for Service Pack 1 only and some of his information is
incorrect. Nevertheless, you should be fine using his guide on setting
up XP ;)
