safe mode to normal mode

Hi
I am having problems returning to normal mode from safe mode after repairing a virus-induced problem. The system restore option is disabled. Any suggestions

One thing to check...
START button|RUN
Type...

msconfig <enter>

Click the BOOT.INI tab
Be sure that the SafeBoot box is NOT checked
