The First Question Of Troubleshooting: what changed between the time
things worked and the time they didn't?

If this is a sudden change, since you can get into Safe Mode you can try
a System Restore to when things worked.

Start>Programs>Accessories>System Restore
"Restore my computer to an earlier time"

first of all Thanks for trying to help me...I tried to put a password on this
newly fixed computer..I have no disc..but that's when the problem started...

go to start, run and msconfig
go to the boot ini tab
there you will find some useful info on this

take note there is a check boot paths button
and there is a safeboot check box...

the dialog above can probably help
if the problem is simply a mis configured boot.ini
so read the line items and see if something doesn't
look right.

if not you can edit the boot.ini with notetab

let us know...

Thanks Ben for the Help..I went to the place you sent me amd did the
check..looks OK? no boxes were checked and system said everthing was
OK..???Anything else I can look at?

yeh, go back in there and see
if that button check all boot paths
finds anything. If it doesnt
modify the ini line items in the boot file
viewer, then see if a \safeboot switch has been
added in there...

if a safeboot switch has been added in the
line item, then this is the cause of why you
are defaulting in safeboot.

if you are unsure about this, go ahead
and open the boot.ini with your notepad
and copy and paste it in your next response so
we can take a looksee.

the boot.ini is in your root directory and
likely to be hidden. so make the appropriate
adjustments in your file explorer to search for
it....

If this seems to be a little time consuming you
can always use your windoes cd to repair
your o.s. as well and as another option...
