Safe mode on Dell w/ XP?

How do I get into Safe Mode on a Dell with Windows XP? Holding down Ctrl
didn't seem to work.

The same as previous versions of Windows.
Reboot the computer.
Tap F8 each second during boot.
Select the appropriate option at the menu.
