Do you mean a CD-Audio player as in the one in your stereo system? CD
players came out long before CD-RW's so they're probably incompatible (these
days modern stereo systems can play mp3 files, Cd-r's, cd-audio and cd-rw.

If you mean a CD-ROM drive - they should work.

What errors are you getting (such as "cannot read disk", "drive not ready"
etc)?

Is the audio format *.cda? as in "compact disk audio" which is the format of
audio cd's, as opposed to mp3, wav etc.

Try Burning at a slower speed (like 8x) some older cd players can't
play disks burnt at high speed (like 52x)

Absolute BS, the speed a disk is written has no relevence to it being read.
It depends on the CD players ability to recoginize the format. Some newer CD
players will read any format or media, older CD players have different
requirements. To insure the disk is readable on all CD drives, it must be
closed.

Agreed.

Wrong. Newer cdroms can read CDRW media; many older ones can't Don't
lump them all together. I have an older 52x cdrom that absolutely
will no read CDRW media. I don't care, as I have a new CD-RW unit
that will read them just fine, and I see no need to replace the cdrom
unit as it works just fine.

Why won't RW CD's play on a standard player?

Many newer CD players, both portable/home stereo, will work with CDRW
media. Many older units won't. The ones that won't usually have
problems with the dye on the underside of the CDRW media; the laser
the unit uses can't read the reflections from the dye like it does the
ones from CDs or CDRs.

I know it's been a long time since this posting originated, but it sure
helped me out today!! Thanks!
