runtime error

I sporadically encounter a runtime error which immediately closes all open IE instances. The message refers to Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE and states "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."

Any advice??

I get the same thing on XP machines when trying to login
to HP Insight Manager 7; the same application works fine
on Windows 2000 Professional. Both XP and Windows 2000
Pro systems are latest service packs and updates.
 
This could be a parasite problem. Try Ad-aware and/or Spybot.

Another possibility:
From Internet Options> Advanced, if you have Sun Java and microsoft VM
(virtual machine) uncheck Sun Java.
