Runtime error! msdev.eve

Hi,

After installing Visual Studio 6.0 on my winXP (home ed), I couldn't start
visual c++, I'm getting Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library error, with the
message: Runtime Error!
Program:...les\Mirosoft Visual Studio\Common\MSDev98\Bin\MSDEV.exe
Abnormal program termination

After pressing the OK button, I'm getting MSDEV.EXE - Application Error,
with the message:
The instruction at "0x77......" reference memory at "0x00.....". The memory
could not be "wrriten".
Click on OK to terminate the program.

Can anyone help? thanks very much
