I just had my motherboard replaced and another disc drive installed.
Unfortunatle, all the programs I need are now on the D drive. I can't seem to
open any of the programs that were on the D drive. Both are using Windows XP
SP2. I hate to reinstall everything.

You should format D:,leaving C: with xp,then reinstall the programs,
then install to D: if its up to it,the old C: drive was configured to the
other
board,as were the programs, mixing the two isnt a very good idea even if
they would run.

why are you not using the original C drive? Many disk drive companies offer
disks to copy all the information from your old drive to the new one.

When the tech installed everything, that's how he set it up. He told me that
the old C drive (now the D drive) was now the slave. I suppose I could just
change that back?

that is what you will have to do is the new drive faster or did you just
want mores storage space?
If the new drive is faster then check the drive mfg web site and see if you
can clone the drive. If you paid the tech $$ then call them back and ask if
they expected you to reinstall all your programs?
