running process

I can hear a process going on and can see that there is one by the flashing
light on my pc, as soon as I try to view it by opening task manager it stops
 
Thanks on both posts Carey, I am trying to regain some disk space after a
repair install. I had 19gb hd space before I did the repair and the repair
took me down to 15 after I had installed the i386 and updates etc etc. Any
ideas of what files I can safely delete would come in most useful

*4GB* for that lot? Something VERY wrong there.
