Running out of memory opening a word document

I have several documents that are large with micro's. I am getting an error
that informes me that Word is running out of memory and I will not be able to
change the document. Then word shuts down. Is there a setting I need to
adjust? It is word 2002, I am running XP home ed.

You might try checking your system for *.tmp files. And clean out the TEMP
folder. See if that gives Word the resources it requires.
