Running Headers

Is there a way in the document's header to have running headers that appear
based on whatever the current heading 1 or heading 2 is? I'm not sure how to
set this up if there is, as I didn't see a variable to put into my header for
this. I'm working with Word XP. Any suggestions on how I might achieve this
if it isn't a feature of word? Thanks.

Look in Word's Help for the StyleRef field, which is what you want.

This is how it works in Word 2000...maybe it will work for you...
Try "Insert" "Field"
In the pop-up box under "Field names" select "StylRef"
Click on "Options" in the bottom left of that same popup box
Click on the "Styles" tab and select the style that you want to display by
double clicking on it (e.g. "Heading 1") click OK and OK one more time
