Running CD-ROM game from hard drive?

I have Windows XP, and I just bought "Jeopardy 2nd Edition", a Windows 98
game. The game is CD-ROM driven, no matter which install option you choose
(Typical/Minimum/Custom).

This game is about 3 or 4 years old. But if possible, is there any way to
install this game and tweak it to run strictly off the hard drive? Any
information is appreciated.

You need to create a "virtual CD drive" on your hard drive, copy the
contents from the Jeopardy CD to the virtual CD drive, and run it from
there.

There are third party programs that will create a virtual CD drive for
you and copy the original CD to it. Norton virtual CD drive is one,
and there are others. Do a search using Google or go to www.cnet.com
and use their search engine to find a program.

Note that some game CDs use copy protection and other schemes to
ensure the original CD must be inserted in the drive before the
program will work. Be sure any program you use also has an option to
do a sector by sector copy to the virtual drive.
 
Use Google to search for a "no cd" patch or crack from a gamers web-site for
that game, there's nearly always one to be found. If you find one, scan it
with an up to dat a/v program b4 using it !!
