does anyone here know why the rundll32.dll icon in systems32 looks blank as
compared to the other dll icons??
is this where it should live..
i think it may be connected to my computer hanging at shutdown..

You can install xp cd,exit the info page,go to run, type:cmd In cmd type:
Sfc /Scannow When the graph stops, type:CHKDSK C: /F Agree to restart,
then type:EXIT Restart computer, remove cd.Also, run the DOS window in
min.,sometimes the graph runs behind it.

rundll32.exe lives in C:\WINDOWS\system32 and C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache.
Both of my rundll32.exe icons look like a blue piece of paper with the upper
right hand corner dogeared.

Are you getting rundll errors? Any errors in the Event Viewer?

Most rundll errors are related to spyware/scumware.
