David

I am a novice so, please use small words when replying (a
big thanks in advance).
I have two problems that prevent me from being able to
download articles for my daughter's homework.
The first, states that my system (windows 2000)"cannot
find rundll32.exe"
The second , statest that "internet shortcut cannot be
opened because failed to run."

Can anyone email me some instructions how to remedy this
dilemma.
thanks again.

If you quoted your correct EMail address then you're
probably in big trouble. Spammers regularly harvest EMail
addresses from newsgroups . . .

Here are the first few steps you need to take:

a) Scan your PC for viruses, preferably with an external
scanner (www.antivirus.com).

b) Use "My Computer" to check if rundll32.exe is where it
should be:
c:\winnt\system32\rundll32.exe, or
c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe

Post again with the results.

Check your environment variables (right-click on My Computer, Advanced,
Environment). Windir must point to your Windows directory, typically
C:\WinNT . Also, Path must include System32 under your WinDir.
