Nicolas,
Rather than using the file explorer GUI, it sounds like you should be
using
the Windows cacls.exe command-line tool. You can use runas to run
cacls.exe
under a different account. The following are some examples of using
cacls.exe:
[1] To see the help for this command:
cacls.exe /?
[2] To add full control to the user domain1\user1 for the folder
c:\Files:
cacls.exe c:\Files /T /E /G domain1\user1:F
n.b. This command is very useful for admins, but also very powerful.

i try that you say :
Login as a local administrator or user with admin rights
then to run-as explorer.
The open Explorer goto Tools - Folder Options - View and select 'Launch
but after that when i try to open Explorer with local admin account
nothing
appears ...(no explorer)

then to run-as explorer.
The open Explorer goto Tools - Folder Options - View and select
'Launch
folder windows in a seperate process'.
Log off, then log-on as ordinary user and give it a try again !

Nicolas,
You can try doing this using Internet Explorer instead of
explorer.exe.
[1] Right-click on Internet Explorer, and select runas from the
context
menu.
[2] Enter the credentials of the administrator or a user account
with
administrator privileges, and click OK.
[3] When Internet Explorer starts up, type in the path to the
parent of
the
folder you wish to modify as though you were using explorer.exe;
e.g.
"C:\Files"
You should now be able to modify the permissions.

Patrick

|
| You can't run explorer.exe using RunAs. I think you'll need to
log in
as
a
| local admin.
