Run-Time Errors

Hi, I hope you are doing well.

I have Compaq/HP Tablet (TC1100) and every time I try to run a healthcare
application called DavLong Result Viewer I get a run-time error. The exact
error msg is:

DLViewer (the name of the program)
Run-time error '-2147418113 (8000ffff)':
No address specified.

Compac/HP tech support folks tell me it's not a hardware/software error
specific to the tablet PC. The software vendor tells me it's not their
software problem even though the name of their software program (DLViewer)
appears in the error message.

Can anyone give me a clue as to what could be causing this run-time error or
where to look for assistance? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Have a great day!!!

Unfortunately, since the DLViewer is the item causing the problem, it
*does* appear to be the software that is at fault. In any case, the
software mftr. should be able to help you troubleshoot their program.
If they are unable and/or unwilling (and possibly give you the lame
answer - "reintall XP"), then it is time to use a different program.

I feel the same way, but changing vendors at this time is not an option. Even
though there is no clear cut reason for anything but an application software
problem, the puzzling thing is I only have this problem on the tablet PC's. I
do not have the problem with any of our thin clients or desktop PC's. Does
this make any sense?

It makes sense in that the tablet PC's have different
hardware/drivers/software than desktops or laptops. You might want to
contact MS tech support about this or post your question in a tablet
group. The MS tech support won't be free, but since this is for a
business it will be worth the expense if it solves your issue.

Here is a newsgroup for the tablets:
microsoft.public.windows.tabletpc
