Hello all,

from the Windows XP start menu\run: temp [OK] normally opens the
c:\Windows\temp folder. Since yesterday this doesn't work on my system any
longer, in stead it opens the dialog "open with" (choose the program you
want to use to open this file) .....

Any idea how to solve this problem? Probably something in the registry.

The only thing I canged yesterday was remove Adobe Reader 6 and install
Adobe Reader 7 (restarting the PC in between as suggested). I'm not sure if
Adobe Reader has something to do with this problem, I just tell because it
is the only thing I changed about my config.

Thanks for your help,
Perry

Search your hard drive to see if you have a file called temp. It's
possible a file named temp is being found before the temp folder, and
Windows is prompting you for what you want to use to open the file temp.

Hello Tom,

Thanks a lot for your answer. You are correct, there was a file called temp
in %userprofile% (BTW I don't know how it got there). Simly deleting this
file solved the problem.

Best regards,
Perry
