Run query from desktop?

Currently I open up the access database and then click on the query I want to
run. Is there a way to simply run the query from the desktop?

Open the mdb and restore the Access window so that you can see the desktop.
Drag n drop the query onto the desktop - it'll create a shortcut to it.
 
You can build a shortcut to open Access and run a specified marco that can
run a query.

Go to Help --- Startup command-line options.
