| | I;m trying to find out the same answer.. I have cleared history but
| when I start typing say a:/ i get a list of previous a:/files that
| the command had performed. Any help on how to get rid of it? Can I
| eliminate the auto-compltete for this drop down?
If you "Clear the contents of the My Recent Documents Folder" by click
the "Clear List" button this will delete the Most Recently Used (MRU)
list that appear in the Run command for your %userprofile%\Recent
folder.
For example, "Clear List" will clear the MRU history of entries such
as these: file:///A:/MyTextDocument.txt
It will also clear the commands from the RunMRU that you have typed in
and that appear in the Run command. For example: cmd .
These RunMRU are stored in the following registry location.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\
Explorer\RunMRU
For more information about clearing My Recent Documents see the

If you use the "Clear History" button in Internet Options it removes:
- Shortcuts to Web Pages that you viewed during this and previous
browsing sessions that appear in the Run command.
For example "Clear History" will clear the MRU history of entries such
as these:
