Rules not Working

Every time I add something to the my Rules (to get rid of spam), it does
nothing. To test it, I make the message status as "Un-Read" then run the
rules on the inbox. It never works.

I'm wondering, when you add more and more rules... how to get them to "OR"
together instead of "AND". The Rules should apply if any of the
circumstances occur not if ALL circumstances occur.

Can someone clear this up.

If I understand your issue correctly, when an e-mail fits the requirements
of a rule and that rule is used you don't want the next rule that also
applies to it to be used. If this is the case then you need to select the
option to stop processing rules in each rule, this will have the effect of
if the rule runs on an e-mail that comes in no other rule will be run
against that e-mail. Then you would also want to put the rules in the
proper order in the Rules Wizard so that the rules are in order of
importance. The rule at the top is looked at first when an e-mail arrives
and then down the list of rules in order. If I am incorrect on your problem
or you need clarification on my explanation please let me know.

I hope this information is helpful.

To "or" items together, put them in the same rule. For example, to locate
an item containing "pickle" or "cucumber" in the body using Outlook 2003
(you don't mention your Outlook version), click Tools>Rules and Alerts>New
Rule>Start from a blank rule>Next. Check "with specific words in the body".
Click on "specific words" and enter "pickle" in the "Specify words or
phrases..." box. Click Add. Then enter "cucumber" and click Add again.
You'll see "pickle or cucumber" in the lower half.
