Rules for sent message

I have 2 separate email addresses set up in MS Office Outlook 2003. I've
figured out how to check and filter incoming mail to separate them and how
to choose what address to use to reply and send new messages.

What I can't seem to figure out is how to tell it to automatically put sent
messages from one of them in the sent messages folder but messages from the
other in a different folder. There should be a way to do it but I can't
find it. Help?

Click Tools>Rules and Alerts>New Rule. Select "Start from a blank rule" and
select "Check messages after sending". Click Next. Select the "through the
specified account" condition and go from there.

You have to do this manually. Rules only work on the Inbox & incoming mail,
not sent items. You could use separate profiles, but that's not what you're
looking for. You can add a column to the Sent Folder to show the From field
by right clicking on the heading and choosing Field chooser. Make sure you
use diff sender names in the 2 accts. so you can tell them apart.

Actually, I tried using "through the specified account" and that behaved
strangely. Messages coming in got sent into the alternate sent messages
folder. I changed to to messages from and that works, although I have to
manually run the rule after sending mail from the alternate account.

I have another question now. There are a couple of lists that we (my boss
and I -- the 2 email addresses I'm setting up) are both on and people
frequently send messages to me and cc: to her or the other way around or to
both of us.

I'm having a devil of a time figuring out a way to make it so that when that
happens and 2 identical messages come in, one to me and one to her, how to
leave 1 in my inbox and send one to hers. So far, I can move the both to
hers, leave them both in mine, or leave them both in mine with copy to her.
Either way, there's not just 1 in my box and 1 in hers.

Suggestions for that?

And a question: what does "on this machine only" mean in setting up rules?
