Is it possible to display the ruler in inches but change the graduations from
eighths to tenths in Word 2000?

Thank you for any help,
Mandy.

Mandy, I want to say you can have either Inches or Centimeters in your ruler
settings, but that you can't tell it how to break up the measurement format.

But you can know specific measurements of your tabs and indents on your
horizontal ruler by holding down the ALT key while hovering over the indents
or tabs:

MORE INFORMATION
To view the exact position of a tab, indentation, or margin setting, follow
these steps:
1. On the View menu, click Print Layout.
2. Position the mouse pointer over a tab stop, indentation marker, or margin
marker on the ruler.• Press and hold the ALT key on the keyboard, and then
click and hold the left mouse button.

-or-
• Click and hold both the left and right mouse buttons.

You will see exact measurements on the ruler indicating distances for the
selected tab, indentation, or margin setting.

Hope this helps. Barb

I'm using autoshapes to create a floor plan and I need to position the lines
more accurately (to a tenth of an inch). I wish I had Visio, but I don't!
Is there a way to change the fractions of an inch displayed?

You can't change the ruler, but you could set up the Grid to 10ths of an
inch. Drawing toolbar, Draw > Grid ...

That is exactly what I needed, many thanks.

The best thing I can think of for now is to go into the following and maybe
choosing a different unit of measurement might get you closer to what you
need. There may also be a regsitry setting to change or add to manipulate
this. I have to find it again.
