Makes wireless ad hoc networks a nightmare to set up
Trashy operating system installs network firewall , then the technicians here tell you to disable it , so why the op sys enabled it in the first place ????

Proves my point , rubbish technology

It has made my life hell , i still cannot get wireless internet connection sharing ..... when is microsoft going to be broken up and allow exiting new technology companies to produce good competitive products that really work ?

Half the world seems to hate Uncle Bill, and I would be
among their number if only I could find a more stable and
user-friendly platform than XP - I'd love to use Linux,
but the time I'd take to learn it would cost me far more
than the exhorbitant cost of an XP licence.

So go on - getcherself Linux and come back in a few years
to say how easy it was to set up your network...

I hate to defend M$ routinely. Heaven knows you are entitled to your
opinion, and are correct in so many ways. M$ is guilty of many sins
of complacency, and of stupidity.

However, many problems are caused by the need to support so many
different products, in so many combinations, with so many different
customers. If, $deity forbid, everybody was to move in mass to Apple
and / or *nix, I would bet my last dollar that the vendors of those
operating systems would be equally villified.

Cheers,
Chuck
Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.

Please, by all means, go somewhere else. I have a wireless network
with 4 stationary computers wireless, 2 hard wired, and an occasional
laptop in the mix. I run WinXP Pro on all, have wireless print
server on the printer, have a cable modem (Linksys and the wireless
router is Linksys).
Stop bitching and learn HOW to set up a network or sell everything you
have (I'll buy it for .05 on the dollar) and use the $ to buy Apple or
Linux OS or whatever...maybe pen, paper, envelopes, and stamps would
better suit your needs.
