I'm getting an error message, <rstrui.exe entry point not
found, the procedure entry point. remote assistance
repair system restore could not be located in the dnamic
link library WINSTA.dll> I"m getting this when I go to
system restore. How do I overcome? Thanks

No guarantees, but try this:

1. In My Computer, click the Tools menu -> Folder Options.
2. On the View tab, make sure to uncheck the option "Hide extensions for
known file types".
3. Click OK.
4. Click the Start menu -> Run. Type "%windir%\inf" (Without quotation
marks) in the Open field. Click OK.
5. Locate and select the file "sr.inf". Right-click it and then click
Install.
 
I have exactly the same problem. I just tried the
suggestion, I'll let you kow if it worked.
 
It worked but I am not showing any restore points. I know
I had some saved. Where di they go?

Unfortunately, if system restore became that corrup, it likley lost all of
them.
You should now try creating a system restore point to be sure it is working.
