you have no Antivirus installed, or it is not up to date.

You have not been to windows update to update your version of windows with
the patches that would prevent this worm form infecting your machine.

You have no firewall installed that would have also prevented infection on
your machine.

You need to learn a little about basic computer security.

Until you correct ALL THREE of the above; you will continue to be infected
with all kinds of nasty viruses, worms and trojans.

Until such time as you do take the necessary steps to correct your problems,
you are a threat to everyone in your address book, as well as a threat to
the internet community. Once your machine is infected (as yours now is), it
is used to infect other machines that are unprotected. If also sends itself
to everyone in you address book, so if they are not protected, they are now
infected also.

Owning and using a computer is similar to driving a car. You need to
adopt practices that gives you a reasonable amount of safety and security.
Until you have done as above ( Install a reputable antivirus program and
keep it updated; keep your version of windows updated with all critical
patches, and have installed a reputable firewall), you should not be using
your computer to connect to the internet. If you are one of those who are
too "lazy" to do this, or you feel that it is "too hard", then simply unplug
the computer from the wall and donate it to someone who will be a
responsible user.

You have either Blaster or Sasser worm. That happens because you connected
to the internet without a firewall.

Greetings --

If you connected the PC to the Internet without having first
enabled a firewall, without having first installed an antivirus
application with current virus definition files, and before installing
the KB828471 Hotfix, you're very likely to get infected from any of
the thousands of PCs on the Internet that are constantly broadcasting
the Blaster and/or Welchia worms. It only takes a few seconds of
exposure.

To stay on-line long enough to get the necessary updates, patches,
and removal tools, click Start > Run, and enter "shutdown -a" when the
next RPC countdown begins. This will abort the shut down. Also, make
sure you've enabled a firewall before starting, to preclude any more
intrusions while getting the updates/patches/tools.
