RPC terminated?

I keep getting this error message saying that NT
authority/system is shutting down because Remote
Procedure Control is terminated...

what is going on?

**** You need to make sure you have a FIREWALL enabled ****

Open XP's "Help and Support" and type: FIREWALL , and hit enter.
Click on the topic titled "Enable or Disable Internet Connection Firewall".

Phil, I am having the same problem. I can't keep my
computer on for more than 3 minutes at a time without
getting that message and having my computer shut down. I
am searching for answers and will notify you if I find
any. Please do the same for me. I noticed that there are
other people who are posting the same problem.

By the way, what brand computer do you have? Maybe we
should start there. Joe
 
To stop the reboots: Go to Start/Run and type in: services.msc. Scroll down
to Remote Procedure Call (RPC)/Logon/First Failure/Restart the Service.

Then close Windows Explorer, End Process in the Task Manager for
msblast.exe, run the edit on line 257 then run the patch listed below it:
