When I am on-line after about 5 minutes a message comes up
that says my systems is being shut down by the Windows XP
Authority because of a RPC problem. It gives me 60
seconds to save info and then shutdowns and re-boots by
computer. It does not do it when I am not on-line.
HELP!!

You have just been infected with the W32.Blaster.Worm
(which you have probably heard about on the news). This
worm can only be removed with a special tool, such as one
from Symantec's website:

http://www.sarc.com

They have a link for the Blaster worm at the top of their
page. Once that is complete, run WindowsUpdate to
download the patch to keep this virus from coming back.

Apparently, your computer has an unwelcome visitor known
as the WM32 Blaster/Lovsan worm.

It entered your computer through your internet connection because the "firewall"
was not properly enabled and essential critical updates were not installed from
the Windows Update website. For instructions on fixing the problem, visit:

What You Should Know About the Blaster Worm

Remove W32.MSBlast.Worm
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/xp_msblast.htm

If your computer is constantly attempting to shutdown
or reboot, quickly go to:

Start > Run and type: shutdown -a , and hit enter.

This should halt the rebooting problem.

Then immediately turn-on Windows XP's built-in Firewall:
