Wish I had an answer, but this happened to me also 3 times today - no rhyme
or reason. Gave me about 30 secs to save work. It happened to my son twice
when he was playing on-line. Then when it happened to me, I got REAL
serious. I'm hoping it doesn't have anything to do with the fact that I
disabled the firewall for about a month (long story) and just now re-enabled
it.
Did you happen to notice that when your system re-started that a request
for a network connection came up? It happened to my son twice and he just
clicked OK to connect. When I saw it, it said:
"You (or a program) have requested information from ryan19188.cjb.net.
Which connection do you want to use?" Then it had my ISP server
highlighted. I had an option to Connect or Cancel. When I clicked Cancel,
it kept popping up and wouldn't go away. Couldn't even do a CTRL-ALT-DEL -
it kept minimizing right away, which is really STRANGE.
I'm hoping my system hasn't been compromised. I'll keep a watch on this
thread and hope someone can shed some light. MS Knowledge Base was
worthless.
