rpc errors while on line

I have just installed xppro and had lots of trouble getting install of the
sp1 elements off the cd (no cd/dvd to point the file request at)found lorcan
worm after only xp and office installs and 3 times on line for drivers.
Cleaned that bugger out with antivir now seem to have reasonably good
install but sometimes have rpc error screen come on
after a while online and now NT authority error doing the same (1-1.5hrs
online) .
Second problem seems to mirror others experience with no sound
Any ideas on cause /solution location.

Hi,

You're probably being affected by the Blaster worm/virus, which exploits a
vulnerability in the Windows Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service.

Get the virus cleaned off your system, then ensure that you have a good,
up-to-date antivirus program, a firewall (e.g the free ZoneAlarm from
www.zonelabs.com), and for good measure a spyware scanner too (e.g Spybot
Search & Destroy, from http://security.kolla.de)

Oh, and don't post to Usenet with your real, unobscured e-mail address -
unless you WANT to collect spam :-)
