I know this is off topic, however, I thought someone here might know. I'm
looking for a wireles router with a very lengthy range. It is possible to
get a router with a range of hundreds of yards? Say for instance 600 yards.
I have a high speed connection in an office about 600 yards from another
area where I would like internet access on a laptop. Thought I could get
that type of range from an inexpensive router. Any thoughts?

Agreed. I have a WRT54GL using DD-WRT boosting the power to 251mW and a
12dBi omni antenna. The laptop works a good 1/4 mile away (up to 1/2 mile
away with decent signal on the laptop). With a good directional antenna on
the opposite side of the omni, I can reach a good mile or so.

Recommended highly.
