Hello Group,

Need help with a way to perform this breakeven calculation.

say we have

2004 2005 2006 2007 2008
Revenue $20,000 $66,000 $74,000 $45,000 $88,000
Expense $80,000 $95,000 $25,000 $1,000

I need to calculate at what year we'll have a breakeven..
i.e the sum of revenues is equal to sum of expenses and
the answer be given in number of years.

How can I do this?

Don't need a calculation for this one. If your expense's
are less than $84,000 for 2008 then your break even point
is 2008.

I am not an accountant but what I think you need to do is
annualize your Revenue and Expense over a period of time
(say 12 years). That's a Revenue of $33,833.33 a year and
an expense of $16,750.00 a year. Still the break even
point is 2008.
