Rolling back a driver

I am used to Win98 but now I have XP Pro.

I want to install a new InfraRed device and I will need to install a
driver for it in XP.

I have had bad problems with installing and uninstalling drivers on
Win98 and I am told that WinXP is much more robust.

If I install the drivers on XP and they prevent my system from
working properly then what would I do to completely get rid of the
offending drivers.

Go to Device Manager, right click on the device, choose Properties and
select the Driver tab; there will be an option to roll back the driver,
update it or uninstall it.

Note: I recommend keeping your default Driver Signing preferences (if you
haven't changed it or don't know what it is, don't worry about it).

Windows XP is much better at handling drivers but it still is vulnerable to
the occassional hickup. Make sure you have downloaded the latest drivers for
your InfraRed device and that they are compatible with Windows XP.

Thanks for your answer. I am thinking that a installation may
involve more than just a corrupt driver. Do you know how I can use
XP's Rollback to remove any files and settings installed by the
InfraRed installation program?
