Hi,
I have an issue with my RIS server that has arisen recently. Installations
still work but the portion of setup that occurs before Windows starts (where
all of the drivers are loaded) takes a very long time (3 or 4 hours). The
server was working very well until recently when we moved (and hence
rebooted) it. Once it gets past the early part of the setup, the
installation continues without any further speed issues. The only thing
that has changed since we moved it is perhaps the port on the switch into
which the server is connected.
The switches involved are Cisco Catalyst 3500 and I have tried connecting
the client PC to an intermediate switch to eliminate the spanning tree
protocol issue. This does not produce any improvement in the speed eitehr.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards
CW.
