I am looking for software to make ringtones for a Motorola cell phone. I
think it needs to be in .amr format.

Try www.freeringers.net, but be aware that some Motorola models will
not accept downloaded ringtones--you have to generate them yourself
with the keypad. You should be able to find out at the above site
before investing in the one-time lifetime membership fee--$10 the last
time I was there.

If your model won't download tones, Coding Workshop's Ringtone
Converter will do the job, but this software also is not free.

Thanks for the reply.

I am looking for software that will convert the mp3s I already have to .arm.
The phone has a flash card to transfer the files.

I hate to bring this up, but I hope that you only use this in private. I
hate being forced to endure other peoples' cell phone music. To me, it's
noise pollution, it yanks my attention. I'd like some peace and quiet.
Please respect the right of others to their own sonic space.

Thanks

Richard

Thanks for the link.
It did convert the mp3 to amr and the phone can play it, but it will not
use
it as a ringtone. Motorola has disabled that function so you have to buy
the
ringtones from them. ;(
I have a motorala and I use the freeringtones site that was mentioned. I use
samples from Walmart's online music store, download the mp3 sample file to
my pc and then upload them to the freeringtones which then sends them to my
phone. The only fee is the per kb download cost if you don't have unlimited
internet service on your phone.

What OS does the Motorola use?

SymbOS.Blankfont.A is a Trojan horse that drops a corrupt GDR font file
onto the compromised device. The Trojan runs on the Symbian OS, which is
the operating system for Nokia Series 60 cellular telephones.

Becareful what you upload to those Cell Phones!

Thanks for the reply-

I do not use the internet service with the phone. I want to convert my own
mp3s and transfer them using the memory card.

Thanks for the advice.

I don't know what OS Motorola uses. I plan to transfer some of my own mp3s
or voice recordings using a memory card, so a Trojan should not be a
problem.
