I have a user that is complaining about the speed that the context menu comes up. This user is on and identical machine to 35 other users that are not experiencing any issues. I don't see anything that is running in the background

Machine Spec
3.2 Gig Pro
1 Gig Ra
120 sata driv
XP pro all updates

Thanks in advance

Must be really slow if the user is complaining
I don't know if this will help, but go to Start>control Panel>Mous
and where it says 'double click speed', try changing those settings to see if it makes a difference
Is it only when the user is right-clicking that the menus open slowly, or does it happen generally, with all menus and files?

This may or may not be related, but I wrote in two weeks ago about a right
click hanging my XP system after installing the Rollup Service Pack. Turns
out, the culprit was Stuffit 5.5. Turns out, there is a little-known
potential for Stuffit products, excluding 8.X which is optimized for XP, to
interfere with the security updates for Win XP. This can include slowing
and/or hanging on right-clicking desktop icons.

For my own part, I uninstalled Stuffit 5.5 and installed all the current
updates for Pro. Upon reinstalling Stuffit 5.5, I hung again.

Hope this might be a helpful note.

Regards all.
