Hi,

I've been having this problem for a year, and I keep trying to find an
answer, and I just discovered this site and I hope someone can help me!
I can change the color of the font and that's it.
I cannot change the size or text in any email that I'm composing.
I have rich text turned on, I've tried turning it off and on and I keep
having the same problem.
Has anyone had this happen? It's driving me nuts!!!
Everything is Times New Roman size 12.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Try posting here in HTML.

What size is this text?

Make sure you are composing with no stationery.

What method did you try ?
Open Windows Mail > Tools > Options > Compose > Font Settings > choose size,
style, font and colour > OK > OK.
t-4-2

Here if i post it's not in HTML, how would i do that?
I went to the options and it's set to 9 pt Arial, yet no matter what i do is
posts as 12 times new roman.
i have ie 7....
this is driving me NUTS!
thanks for the replies thus far!

Posting HTML to newsgroups is generally not recommended, however,
a short test would be OK. When composing, click on Format, and
select "Rich Text (HTML)".

Where exactly did you set it to 9 pt Arial?

i don't have a format option on here to post in html?
there's no options at all...?

it's set to arial when i go to windows mail > tools > options > compose>
font setting

Right,
i have selected rich text, plain text, i keep switching between them, it
still doesn't ever change.

i have also selected the different font settings and it won't change.
it's set to arial 9 pt, but it only writes in TNR, no matter how many times
i change it.
it's like posessed.
and it won't change ever!

One last question to ask. It may sound silly, and please don't take it
personal :
After you picked the settings, did you click " OK " ?
If your answer is yes, I must concede that I am unable to help.

yiup, i pressed apply AND ok.
still switches to stupid TNR.

i don't get why!!!!!!
it was fine til about a year ago and then it went psycho.
should i reinstall windows live mail or something??

That setting affects only the font you see while composing a message
in plain text. When a plain text message is sent, it does not contain
any font characteristics. When that plain text message is received, it
will display in whatever font the recipient has set under Tools, Options,
Read, Fonts.

t-4-2 told me to download that windows live mail program, and that worked....
but i was using just windows mail, not this live thing.
