Reverting to default settings for printing

Too many times, I go to print a document, and the printer settings from a previous document remain -- for instance, I want only one copy and not printed on both sides, but a previous document I wanted duplexed and 10 copies. I wind up printing copies I just recycle, wasting time, paper, and toner. Is there some way I can get Word to go back to square one for each document when I get the Print dialog box? Can I set some option so it _always_ goes back to one copy, not duplexed, one page per sheet ...

What you describe as desirable is the norm for Word; the Print dialog is
always reset to Print what: Document, Pages: All, 1 copy, not duplexed, etc.
If yours is saving settings then this must be the action of a macro or
add-in that intercepts the Print command or changes the printer Properties.
