i brought a new game need for speed underground!

whilst i installed it the installation told me i needed dirextx9.0 or more, and that the cd contains 9.0b so i installed it.

yes the game is brilliant im mad about it infatuated to the max..............

but now when i use my digital tv its a win nova pci hauupage works.
when i try to go to full screen.......... it just wont. the pictures doesnt fit the whole screen. its cut from the sides........squeezed in infact. im sure that this is purely to do with directx................i coulld try downloading new drivers for my fx5200 or i could get new software for my hauupage works card..........but dont want to just yet.

this is soo annoying! im prepared to take the game back get a refund!

is there any way i can revert back to directx8.0? i looked in add/remove programes? its not there this appears to be a real swine!!!

please help me if u can

regards

Yep, follow Mucks' advice, absolutely no point at all in regressing.

And this is the best thing you can do:

i coulld try downloading new drivers for my fx5200 or i could get new software for my hauupage works card..........but dont want to just yet.
Don't give up on NFS: Underground, it's great. Not exactly realistic, but great fun and a real sense of speed. And it gets harder later on as well ;)

Upgrade to Direct X 9.0c, upgrade TV Card drivers, and upgrade Nvidia drivers. That should sort out probs.

the only real way to revert back after installing DXm would be tou use system restore, although i wouldn't recommend this.

cheers u lot...........

looking at directx9.c nice idea but i dont download no more than 4-5 mb cuz im on silly dialup here its too much to download for me,

ill ask a mate to download it

thanks anyways

what am i talking abt!!! its 7.9mb silly me im justabt to download it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i installed that version of direct x think its 9.c not sure...........then the digital tv worked fine all but two channels wont go to full screen properly.............

then i installed the latest nvidia drivers and now ive got the same problems. bloddy heck! do u think having the latest drivers for your graphics cards is really needed?

depends on who put the graphics card together ... the new drivers have "updates" for the new 6800's ... which I wouldn't bother installing for a MX400

If running XP you can "roll-back" to the old drivers. ;)

i got an fx5200 MSI 128mbddr graphics card.

should i go back to the old drivers?

I found the 56.72s were ok for my FX5200 ... :)

thats goodto hear. im not sayin they dont work on my system

just when maximising my digital tv to full screen mode, it wont happen. the screen is not full screen. the edges are not wide enough this is so annoying!

when given a chance ill revert back to the old drivers to correct this problems.
