Is there a way to find windows media player 11 from vista and load it on XP?

My appologies to the MVPs for this question, but I am curious.

It wouldn't be as simple as a "Drag-&-Drop" operation. You'd be faced
with Codec incompatibility and other system dependencies. I can maybe
understand the curiosity factor - but the logistics of accomplishing it are
too complex.

I hope you have a lot of free time on your hands, if it is even possible.
Do we know if the I_CDBurn interface changed from Windows XP to Vista?
Certainly the WMP assemblies will consume that interface, and that alone
could cause total failure in the attempt.

It's not like the old days when you could grab a handful of exe and dll
files, register them on the new machine, and be up and running.
