On initial starup of ie 6 I have to wait about 20-30 seconds after I've hit
the address bar drop down button before it registers, then it works fine on
any other page.

I'm running XP SP2 and Norton system works 2003 pro...is it IE or NIS prob?

Any info would be great,

Thanks.

Hi Phil :-)

Try the following and see if it helps:

Why does my address bar take so long to drop down?

Try clearing your history

Tools\Internet Options\Clear History button.

If you are still having problems, shut down all programs and open the MS DOS
window
and type in following commands from the Windows directory,
typically C:\Windows\>

smartdrv
deltree history
deltree tempor~1

Reboot

You might need to delete the damaged History folder- a new one will be
created on restart.

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps
