i've been getting notification of mail being
undeliverable. when i view notice; it's mail i didn't even
send...but it says it was sent from my account.

A virus on an infected machine (so it doesn't have to be you who is
infected) has found your e-mail address somewhere and pretends to be you. Of
course undeliverable mail notifications go to you.

Sounds like a virus

My Doom would spoof an Administrator Non Delivery Message do not open them at all. See if they coorelate to any time and dates in your sent items if you didn't send anything at or around that date and time then it's probably a spoof and should not be opened

Could be MyDoom or some other Mass Mailer virus spoofing the Administrator message

Thanks for your input...now the next question is "how do
i stop this?" I scan my machine daily and it tells me
there is no virus!

That's because it's not your machine that's infected, it's someone elses.
That person has you in their address book. The worm on their machine grabs
it and makes it the sender address of a message, making it look like the
message came from you. Since the mesage gets sent to a bogus address, the
bounce comes back to you.

There's nothing you can do to stop it other than build rules to delete the
bounces or use a program like SpamBayes or Mailwasher.
