Retrieving original file

How do I retrieve the original information on a folder before accidentally
saving new changes

The easiest way is to look for your backup of the file. Was it e-mailed to
anyone? Saved on a network drive? Saved in any other from,
flashdrive/floppy/CD? To retrieve information once it has been saved over is
generally not possible.
