Retrieving a form from backup

I inadvertently changed a form, thinking I would just copy it and modify it
for a similar use. I have a backup with the correct version of the form. Is
there a way to retrieve the original and insert it in my up-to-date version
of this database?

Your post is confusing as to which form you wish to retain.
I'll guess you have a form on database A that is no longer useful and
wish to replace it with a form on Database B.

Just change the name of the no longer wanted form on
Database A.
Then, click on File + Get External Data + Import.
Navigate to the Database B and click on the Import Wizard's forms tab.
Select the form you wish to import. Click OK.

After the import, delete the no longer wanted form from Database A.

They're both in one database, form A and form B. I originally created form A
and I want to keep it. I then wanted to create a similar form, form B. So in
the wizard I selected form A and made the changes for B. I did not realize
that I was, in fact, changing form A permanently.

I can find form A in its original correct format (with coding) in a backup
of the database from several days ago. Is there a way to retrieve it and add
it to my current version of the database?

In addition, I have a more general question. Is there an Access-readable
text file description of an Access database, including the forms and reports?
This would be useful for documenting and for version management.

My reply was exactly what you are asking to do.... Import a form from
another database on your computer. Try it.

Regarding your second question.
Click on Tools + Analyze + Documenter

Thank you, Fred. Worked perfectly now that I understood your answer.

Not quite so sure about the Documenter. Forgot to mention I'm using Access
2007.

I believe it's there in Access 2007 too, but you'll have to find it.
Sorry, but I don't use Access 2007. Perhaps start a new thread and ask
where it is. Make sure you mention your version is 2007. I'm sure
someone will be able to answer you.
