The only way I know of, short of very expensive data recovery which would be
iffy, is if you did a backup prior to overwriting. Writing to the same name
is one of the more effective ways of deleting a file.
By data recovery, I'm talking FBI, CIA -level recovery, not Norton
Utilities. The metalic coating on your hard drive will have a residual
memory of what was there before your latest store. I believe "Tempest"-level
security overwrites nine times to wipe this out.
