Hi all :-)

Q: Is there a way to completely lock in the initial view of a word doc?

Problem:

I've got a resume in word, and I notice that if I save it in print view,
everything is fine, perfect layout on two pages.
However, if I attach the doc to outlook, and then open it, the document not
only opens in thumbnail view, but even seems to lose some formatting. If I
then choose print preview, print view, or just print, everything is fine.
The problem is that I'd like to lock the view that a potential employer will
see, or at least set it up so that the initial view is the way I saved it!
One last piece of info. It seems related to outlook; if I open the doc I
saved in explorer, it opens and looks fine.

Note:
I went to options, compatibility, and set the option recommended in Word
Help. It didn't do the trick.

Thanks in advance!
Best,
Terrapin

That's what PDF is for. You can google for cheap/free software to convert
to pdf, you don't have to buy Adobe Acrobat.

And if you used Word's resume template:
