retailer installd xp home wrong!!@*

Hey. When i purchased computor 1 yr ago, they installed my new copy of XP Home.
Iv just tried to update to sp2 and failure message states that my license is
not valid.
When I check product key it is the same except for one number. a 2 instead
of a 7!
How was it running? I cant re enter as is tells me its already activated.
ARRRGH!

Hi Rob! Me Again. checked that site. Interesting to know so many with
similar probs, but no answers. Is this something msft workin on, I really
want 2 get sp2 on board, some crazy crap goin on with pop ups and critical
errors. tks

Do a repair installation...........correct the license number during the
repair.
