I have set up 3 users on my Windows XP Pro PC, and I need
them all to have different levels of file access. How do
I set each user up with access to specific drives /
folders on the PC ? Any help gratefully received. Thanks.

Hi,

Firstly I would turn off "simple file sharing". In windows
explorer go to tools> Folder Options. Select View. Uncheck
use simple file sharing.

Then you can go two ways.... explicitly define the users
access to the folder. eg> click on folder and right click
for sharing. Add the user in or the other way is to create
user groups and add the users to the groups. Then add the
groups to the folders share as stated previously.

Hope this helps....
Brad

Thanks Brad. I knew that there must be a way of doing it,
based on my file permissions at work.

Gordon.
