Had a startup problem and re-installed XP over the top of
the original installation. XP now starts OK but does not
have original user accounts.

I need to access each users "my documents" folder from the
previous installation in "Documents & Settings".
The accounts are password protected, so even logged in as
administrator i can't view the contents, just get "error-
access denied".

I have the same problem, except all user data folders can be reached
Only the owner is locked/acces denied. This is caused by the fact during reinstallation he created a new "owner.XYZ
I try to find a solution and will write back.
I you find something, send me a mail: (e-mail address removed)

Thank

Marc

Thanks your help i can now view users files.

Is it possible to copy, the previous users accounnts
settings to a new user account (ie import settings)?
