I installed a free update (from the Microsoft updates page), for Outlook
2003, not realizing that it would delete my Outlook and all saved info in
it, replacing it with a new one. I just thought it would make the Outlook I
had better, not totally replace it! How can I restore my old Outlook and get
back all my info?
Many thanks!

You must re-install your old version of Outlook. Your data should still be
intact after installation but I would back it up first. Look for a hidden
file with a .pst file extension.

Thanks so much for your reply. I found a hidden file, outlook.pst I
reloaded Outlook, the data was still gone. Not sure what to do with the
hidden file to activate it, I get a message asking what I want to use to open
it (Adobe etc.) Obviously I am on yet another learning curve with this!

O.K., write down the path where the outlook.pst file that you found is
located. Open Outlook and click on the File menu > Open > Outlook Data File.
Here, you can 'browse' to the location where your outlook.pst file is
located.
